Do you need to eliminate eggs?

Eggs are one of the more common food allergies and also a food that some people are intolerant of. Eggs are a socially acceptable alternative to cereal, toast, and pastries while still being a familiar breakfast food. Eggs also happen to be a true superfood. As the only source of the full spectrum of amino acids, eggs are a convenient, relatively cheap, and easy way to get healthy fats, proteins, and a range of other nutrients into your diet.

If you have an egg allergy, you obviously need to avoid them. If you suspect you have an intolerance, then I recommend that you also avoid them at least for the initial phase of the base functional diet. Once the symptoms have resolved and you are feeling good, you can look at reintroducing eggs. If you find that don’t feel good after you do, then eggs are certainly one of the first foods that you could consider eliminating.
